PRESENTATION
My name is Djana Sand Vallespir and I am a Danish artist with Mallorcan roots.
I have been working primarily with painting and drawing but have also worked continuously with other art forms such as sculpture, video works, and music compositions.
Across motifs and formats, my works possess an immediacy - you are never in doubt about what the work depicts. There are most often people at the center of the works, and although I am clear and direct in my visual language, there is nonetheless something distant, melancholic, and dreamy about the expression. Feeling is allowed to dominate over motif.
The stylized, classical expression of the works blends with inspiration from film noir, post-impressionism, and fragmented cubism. And despite the tension and melancholy in the works, there is also often humor in the expression, or in a detail somewhere.
Member of Visual Artists Ireland, KODA, Gramex.
Represented by "Galleri Havn" as of 2026.
